turnsole \turn"sole`\, n. f. tournesol, it. tornasole; tornare
   to turn ll. tornare + sole the sun, l. sol. see turn,
   solar, a., and cf. heliotrope. written also turnsol.

          named because its flowers are supposed to turn toward
          the sun.
