   oe. sturdi inconsiderable, of. estourdi stunned, giddy,
   thoughtless, rash, f. 'etourdi, p. p. of of. estourdir to
   stun, to render giddy, to amaze, f. 'etourdir; of uncertain
   origin. the sense has probably been influenced by e. stout.
