venerable \ven"erable\, a. l. venerabilis: cf. f.
   v'en'erable.
   1. capable of being venerated; worthy of veneration or
      reverence; deserving of honor and respect; -- generally
      implying an advanced age; as, a venerable magistrate; a
      venerable parent.
