   winking. oe. winken, as. wincian; akin to d. wenken, g.
   winken to wink, nod, beckon, ohg. winchan, sw. vinka, dan.
   vinke, as. wancol wavering, ohg. wanchal wavering, wanch?n to
   waver, g. wanken, and perhaps to e. weak; cf. as. wincel a
